Selene Frosini ha iniziato a collaborare nel 2007 con gli Studi d’Arte Cave Michelangelo e negli ultimi anni ha avuto modo di partecipare, come professionista del marmo, alla realizzazione di opere per artisti internazionali.

“Sono belli per quello che sono” questo il primo commento di Selene quando gli ho chiesto da dove venisse l’idea di utilizzare dei piccoli blocchi di marmo per realizzare le opere della sua mostra a Teké Gallery. Sul primo momento può sembrare un commento banale, ma vedendo i lavori per la mostra, in verità, l’ho trovato molto profondo.

Differenti materiali, Nero del Belgio, Rosa del Portogallo, Nero Messico, Bianco Statuario, Carrara Ordinario, tutti affrontati dall’artista con la stessa poesia. I blocchi, nel loro volume, rimangono inalterati ma Selene scava al loro interno creando delle gallerie che attraversano delicatamente la pietra. Una ricerca che ci regala delle sculture finemente lucidate all’esterno ma ruvide e satinate all’interno.

Selene Frosini began collaborating in 2007 with Arts Studio “Cave Michelangelo” and in the last years had the opportunity to attend, as marble trader, to the realization of works for international artists.

“They are beautiful for what they are” This is the first comment Selene gave me when I first asked her how she had the idea of using small blocks of marble to create the works for the exhibition at Teké Gallery. At first it may seem a trivial comment, but after i gave a deep look at the works for the exhibition, in truth, I found it very profound.

Different materials, Belgium Black, Pink Portugal, Mexico Black, Statuario, Carrara Ordinario, all carved by the artist with the same poetry. The blocks, in their volume, remain unchanged but Selene digs within them creating galleries that gently pass through the stone. A research that gives us the sculptures finely polished on the outside but rough and satin inside.
